Putting Mayhew on the map

At more than 130 years old, Mayhew is one of London’s oldest animal welfare charities, helping thousands of animals gain a better quality of life with community-based veterinary, care and education services.

Having recently undergone a brand refresh and a name change, they came to us to help raise awareness of their brand with their first ever outdoor campaign. Their objective was to appeal to a wider audience and change the perception that they were ‘just another animal shelter’, in turn helping to increase website visits, donations and support.

Making the message simple

Mayhew are a charity with a lot of services and a lot to say. The challenge was working out how to get across the breadth of their services succinctly. Working with Mayhew, we prioritised their services into the top four that would help change perceptions. Each one highlighted a different aspect of their community work whether that’s their work with London’s homeless, their community vet clinic, animal welfare or therapy animals for the elderly and sick.

  • Colour pops

We then came up with a series of creative executions – one for each of the services – with a championing copyline and engaging cut out photography. A bold colour palette, representative of their new branding, made each one really pop. The four work together as a set, or could stand alone.

The ads launched in two waves across 35 digital bus shelters and we’re thrilled to say Mayhew saw a 55% increase in website visits in the first week of the campaign, 15% of which were new visitors. Pawsome.
